Arraphoe County Colorado partnership

The Sheriff's Office is excited to announce the beginning of a relationship with the Arapahoe County Colorado Medical Examiners Office that will now allow our deputies to get real life training that cannot be matched by merely looking at pictures in books or looking at power point presentations. Forensic Pathologist Kelly Lear-Kaul and Undersheriff Jason Showalter have been working together these ...last few weeks to arrange for our deputies to attend in progress autopsies. This training will allow our deputies to gain first hand experience in post-mortem investigations so that the first time they see this kind of evidence won't be on the scene of a crime. This will also give our deputies a better understanding of what takes place in the medial examiners office and give them a respect for what they may have to ask families to endure.  This program demonstrates the Sherman County Sheriffs Office dedication to getting the highest possible level of training for its deputies and the understanding that great education allows us to prepare for whatever challenges we may face in Sherman County. This program begins on Monday and will run until all of our deputies have attended training sessions.
