On July 1, 2013 local law enforcement officers participated in a “roundup” of wanted drug offenders in the Goodland area.   The roundup was the result of an operation spanning several months.  During the operation, police officers and sheriff’s deputies worked with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to target local drug dealers.  As a result of these efforts, arrest warrants were obtained for over ...10 people.  During the roundup, officers arrested 8 different people for drug related charges.    These arrests, and the counter-drug operations that have taken place over the last several months, are part of an ongoing, cooperative effort by local and state law enforcement.  In order to address drug problems in the Goodland/ Sherman County area, the Goodland Police Department, Sherman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are working together to target dealers in the community.  Although the roundup concluded this particular effort, these agencies will continue working together to stop drug activity in the Goodland/ Sherman County area.
