Michael Robben Arrest

The Sherman County Sheriff Office executed a search warrant at 419 West 16th Goodland Kansas on May 23rd 2013.  The search warrant resulted in the arrest of Michael Robben.  Michael Robben was charged with Sexual exploitation of a child.  A bond of $250,000 has been set by the Sherman County District Court.   The investigation is ongoing and came about because a concerned citizen brought attention to law enforcement of a computer that may contain child pornography.  If you have any information please contact the Sherman County Sheriff Office.  Please note that all accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty. 

 

Armed Man Call 07-06-2013

In the afternoon of July 6 Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to Motel 6 in Goodland for a report of an intoxicated individual making threats with an assault rifle. Deputies arrived and after investigation placed a 42 year old man into custody. One rifle and handgun were located at the scene. The suspect is being held at the Sherman County Bastille awaiting his first appearance in Sherman County District Court. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty.

Drug related Arrests 07-01-2013

On July 1, 2013 local law enforcement officers participated in a “roundup” of wanted drug offenders in the Goodland area.   The roundup was the result of an operation spanning several months.  During the operation, police officers and sheriff’s deputies worked with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to target local drug dealers.  As a result of these efforts, arrest warrants were obtained for over ...10 people.  During the roundup, officers arrested 8 different people for drug related charges.    These arrests, and the counter-drug operations that have taken place over the last several months, are part of an ongoing, cooperative effort by local and state law enforcement.  In order to address drug problems in the Goodland/ Sherman County area, the Goodland Police Department, Sherman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are working together to target dealers in the community.  Although the roundup concluded this particular effort, these agencies will continue working together to stop drug activity in the Goodland/ Sherman County area.

Roll over 07-01-2013

Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched today to a one vehicle roll over on I70 in the construction zone west of Goodland. Thomas Rehberger of Fort Meyers Florida lost control of his 2001 Chevrolet pickup causing it to cross two lanes of traffic and go off an embankment. Both driver and passenger were transported by Northwest Kansas EMS. Drugs and alcohol are not contributing factors.

32 Year old Sherman County resident dies 06-29-2013

Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the death of a 32 year old man in rural Southwest Sherman County this morning. At this time foul play is not suspected and the name of the victim is not being released out of respect for the family as they struggle with their loss.
