Tonight several calls have come in to Sherman County Dispatch that a white female in a gray car with a foreign accent is trying to abduct children. Our deputy's have made contact with the female, they are reporting that the female is trying to sell children's books and has a sales pitch that includes asking questions about the children in the home to determine what books should be sold. This has alarmed some residents however no criminal activity has been discovered. This female has applied for a lawful permit to peddle in the City of Goodland and is already working her way around the county. At this time we have no reason to believe that the accusations about child abduction are accurate. However we at the Sherman County Sheriffs Office remind everyone to ALWAYS make the safety of our children a top priority.
